The Canvas

Our Story

The Canvas is an initiation for and by the Indian student diaspora in the United Kingdom in creating the world’s first SDG accelerator activation and awareness programme. The Canvas has selected the United Kingdom as its impact country for the year 2022. The Canvas looks at working closely with the India and the UK government in probably the largest student awareness SDG activity in the world.
The Objective

The initiation aims to launch the student initiative in the United Kingdom in the month of July.

The Canvas will arrange several bespoke events in the United Kingdom at prestigious universities and significant public arenas to raise awareness on the UN SDGs and deepen the India – UK alliance, while propelling the SDG Accelerator Academy in the city of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The Theme

With the initiation of Canvas through the Curtain Raiser event and propaganda events in the impact country United Kingdom, Canvas aims to align the accelerator and awareness campaign to the India-UK corridor, and on the eve of India’s 75 years of independence.

Principal Project

The SDG Accelerator Academy (SDGAA), Gorakhpur, India

SDGAA to be established in the city of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh is initiated under the aegis of Project Out of School Children, and founded by Amreesh Chandra. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Accelerator Academy is the first-of-its-kind project that aims to set up a centre of excellence in order to accelerate awareness and action working towards Agenda 2030.

The SDGAA is the principal project of Canvas, which through its program modules and technical, economic and knowledge resources seeks to align schools, institutions, local and government agencies, corporates as well as individuals on the SDG knowledge and propel urgent and suitable action.
